The Close of Collin's B-day Celebrations

I think we did pretty well with Collin's birthday this year.  We went camping last Friday night, and on Saturday afternoon had his birthday party, which Amy posted some pictures of below.

On Monday we took the kids to their first ever Round Rock Express game.  It exceeded all my expectations.  Not only was the park really, really nice, but our kids were awesome!  We sat with a bunch of families from church and Abby and Collin got to move around and sit with and have fun with their friends.  Collin even used some of his birthday money to buy and share some cotton candy!

Then on Tuesday, after Collin had his last day of preschool, Grandparents Sheen came into town for the night, and the kids got to hang out with them on Wednesday.  My dad also helped me move Collin's finished train table upstairs, which the boys managed to leave covered all day on Wednesday:

We don't have it as loaded up with tracks as we can, but we will.  We knew we wanted to make a big train table for Collin, he loves trains but our old standard sized one was frustrating when trying to make really big tracks.  This train table was made almost exclusively from supplies from the "as-is" section of Ikea.  We found a few really good table tops and then added the lack side table legs, which I got for a nickel each!  I LOVE Ikea. It is about three times the size of a standard train table and less than a quarter of the price!  Anyhow, today was Collin's actual birthday and we finished off today with a few presents in the morning, lunch at Terra Burger, and a s'more brownie with a candle in it to finish the day off.  He got his own camera and took all of the following pictures (I cropped a couple of them, but that's all):

Happy 5th Birthday, Collin!

Collin's Pirate Party

Collin had a pirate party yesterday with some of his Preschool and church friends.  Check out my attempt at the pirate ship cake (before you are too critical, know that I have never taken a cake decorating class.)  So most people who know me, know I LOVE to save money, but I also like things to look cute.  So I was really excited to make the eye patches and velvet goody bags from fabric from past projects.  All I really had to buy was candy, the pinata, plastic gold coins and a treasure chest (all of which I bought at Hobby Lobby with 40% off coupons each time I went past it for a week).  I think it turned out really fun and cute.

Livy's Blessing and Evan's Birthday

Here are some pictures that we took after Livy's blessing and some pictures of Evan the morning of his birthday. We also went to Houston with my parents and had a party for the kids with lots of friends and family that weekend.  Unfortunately because we did so much in just a weeks time I was so busy that I didn't take many pictures.  So I am relying on my parents blog site for the pictorial journal of our time with them.  You can view it at http://phillippiphamily.blogspot.com/
