We built a rocket with Collin and Abby and shot it off for July 4th. I'm sure this is old hat for some of you, but it was the first time for me since high school, and it was totally worth it!

The Beach in Galveston = So much fun!
We to the beach on Saturday in Galveston, specifically Stewart Beach. It was a little sobering to drive past all the places that had not been rebuilt since being destroyed by the hurricane, but the beach was great. We didn't have to park too far away from the beach, and the kids got to play a bunch. Brant showed us how to body surf and with Abby and Collin in their life jackets, they got to go way out into the ocean with Gpa and Brant and Chris. It was a lot of fun, and we would definitely recommend doing it again! Here's a picture of the kids after a full day out there:
Space Center = Way Too Busy on the 4th, but Neat
We went to the Space Center last Friday, and to be brutally honest, probably could not have picked a worse day to go. It was some "Jedi Training" day camp day, there were a whole bunch of day care groups there, and it was just way, way to crowded and hot. HOWEVER, there were some really cool stuff to see like the actual Saturn 5 rocket, and moon rocks and the training facility. Anyhow, here's some pics:
Children's Museum = Awesome
Amy and I and G-ma took the kids to the Children's Museum in Houston on Wednesday, and it was totally worth it. We were there for probably 4 hours and the kids loved everything they could see and touch. We saw some birds hatch from their eggs, I kissed a snake a couple of times, there was a 3 story climbing structure, and rocket ships... There was a place on the second floor for toddlers only, that Evan spent a lot of time with Grandma in. As we were leaving, we realized there was several exhibits that we had totally missed. Seriously, it was just great! If you want to check out the information on the web, here it is: cmhouston.org.
This isn't the highest quality picture, but here's me kissing the snake:

Little Rascal
Tonight I was putting Abby to bed and asked her to say her prayer for the night. I had already turned off the light to help get her ready to sleep, so when she asked, "Can you turn on the light?" I was a little hesitant. The rest of the conversation went like this:
Me: Why?
Abby: Well, I don't like it when the light is off.
Me: Why?
Abby: Because I like it when the light is on.
Me: Yes, but why?
Abby: *Exasperated exhale* Ok. Let me say this one more time. I like it when the light is on.
It was too sound of an argument for me - I had to turn the light on. Rascal.

30th Birthday Luau
Enjoy some pics from my 30th birthday luau! As I'm posting these, I'm remembering that I never posted any pictures from Collin's 4th or Amy's birthday... Whoops. I'll get on that. Until then, here you go!
