Evan Eating

So Evan's been getting pretty insistent on using forks and spoons by himself, and tonight was his crowing moment: Spaghetti. He did awesome!

5 or 15?

Today Amy called me at work to tell me that Abby's hair was a lot shorter, and wouldn't tell me whether or not that was because Abby had cut her hair. Abby then got on the phone and told me it was a funny joke. Yeah. Really funny... Punks.

Anyhow, I got home and sure enough, Abby got a serious haircut. But that wasn't the most surprising - she had her ears pierced too! Check it out!

My T-Shirt Quilt

I've a habit of keeping around t-shirts that have passed their prime, so Amy offered to make me a quilt out of what we had in my dresser and scraps of fabric from all the projects Amy's worked on over the last few years, and here's what the final product looks like. It's pretty sweet - I've already taken a nap with this beauty!

She monogrammed it for me with Harry Potter style letters too!

If you want to see what the shirts are from, I posted a little guide: T-Shirt Guide

Killed off the Cell Phone

FYI, I cancelled my cell phone today. You can still reach the Sheens at our home phone or on Amy's phone... if either are charged up. :)

Blue Bell Factory = Sweet

We hit the Blue Bell Factory on our way back from Houston today. It was a shorter drive there than it was to pretty much any other place we went to in Houston. You got your pick of one of eight flavors of ice cream to eat as you left. It was perfect for a quick 1/2 day trip!

Rocket Launches = Exhilarating

We built a rocket with Collin and Abby and shot it off for July 4th. I'm sure this is old hat for some of you, but it was the first time for me since high school, and it was totally worth it!

The Beach in Galveston = So much fun!

We to the beach on Saturday in Galveston, specifically Stewart Beach. It was a little sobering to drive past all the places that had not been rebuilt since being destroyed by the hurricane, but the beach was great. We didn't have to park too far away from the beach, and the kids got to play a bunch. Brant showed us how to body surf and with Abby and Collin in their life jackets, they got to go way out into the ocean with Gpa and Brant and Chris. It was a lot of fun, and we would definitely recommend doing it again! Here's a picture of the kids after a full day out there:

Space Center = Way Too Busy on the 4th, but Neat

We went to the Space Center last Friday, and to be brutally honest, probably could not have picked a worse day to go. It was some "Jedi Training" day camp day, there were a whole bunch of day care groups there, and it was just way, way to crowded and hot. HOWEVER, there were some really cool stuff to see like the actual Saturn 5 rocket, and moon rocks and the training facility. Anyhow, here's some pics:

Children's Museum = Awesome

Amy and I and G-ma took the kids to the Children's Museum in Houston on Wednesday, and it was totally worth it. We were there for probably 4 hours and the kids loved everything they could see and touch. We saw some birds hatch from their eggs, I kissed a snake a couple of times, there was a 3 story climbing structure, and rocket ships... There was a place on the second floor for toddlers only, that Evan spent a lot of time with Grandma in. As we were leaving, we realized there was several exhibits that we had totally missed. Seriously, it was just great! If you want to check out the information on the web, here it is: cmhouston.org.

This isn't the highest quality picture, but here's me kissing the snake:
